Typar has announced a new strategic distribution agreement with Phoenix-based Capital Lumber Company for the Typar Weather Protection System. Effective immediately, Capital Lumber will begin promoting and selling the complete system, comprised of weather resistant barriers, a variety of flashing options and construction tape. Capital Lumber will also distribute Surround(R) SR Underlayment, a new synthetic roofing underlayment developed by Typar.
“We continually seek new distributors who can uphold the Typar brand therefore we are excited about our new distribution agreement with Capital Lumber, and look forward to a long, mutually beneficial partnership,” said Bob Dahl, vice president, Typar Construction and Specialty Products. “With over 60 years of experience in the business and a recognizable name throughout the western United States, Capital Lumber will further increase the weatherization product offering to the building community.”
The Typar Weather Protection System, which is backed by a 10-year limited warranty, is developed and marketed by Fiberweb, Inc. of Old Hickory, Tennessee, a world-leader in the design and manufacture of tailored non-woven fabric solutions.
Collectively, the system acts as a barrier for wind-driven rain, bulk water and air that may penetrate exterior cladding. When moisture infiltrates the exterior finish, the Typar weather resistant barrier works in conjunction with the integrated flashing to guide water back to the exterior. This reduces the risk of water intrusion that can lead to mold, mildew or other indoor toxins, which can degrade indoor air quality. Surround SR Underlayment is a tear-resistant roofing underlayment that offers secondary protection against moisture intrusion. Made from a waterproof material, the product offers enhanced performance over traditional roofing felt, including improved durability, slip-resistance and easier, faster installation.
Michael Darby, director of sales and marketing at Capital Lumber commented, “Fiberweb’s distribution strategy is complementary to our business model and the Typar Weather Protection System is complementary to our current offering. We look forward to our association with such an innovative manufacturer like Fiberweb, the makers of Typar.”
